Light & Legacy: A De Beauvoir Revival

In the initial design consultation, the homeowner of this property in De Beauvoir Town told our team that they felt the current space was outdated; and they expressed a desire to explore ways to create new, purposeful living spaces. To the rear of the property, there was a considerable amount of space to work with.

The homeowner also wanted to renovate the kitchen, all of the bathrooms in the property, and the master bedroom. As part of these refurbishments, we were also tasked with modernising the interior decor throughout the home, without completely abandoning the charm of this striking property.

“Great professional team. The guys hit the timelines and budget exactly which is very rare on a job this size. I would highly recommend.”

Our design and build process started by creating some initial architectural drawings, refining these based on the clients’ vision. The team decided to make smart use of the space behind the property, designing a glass extension that would accommodate a larger kitchen and dining area. We applied our technical design expertise to ensure this new living space would blend seamlessly with the surroundings of the home. We also created plans for the bedroom and bathroom renovations, as well as accounting for electrical and plumbing updates.

Once the client was happy with the concept design briefs, the project manager submitted a planning application to the local council, marking the final stage of our pre-construction phase. After planning permission was secured, our team of contractors started work on the glass extension.

Elsewhere in the home, we used our bespoke joinery expertise to add new aspects of functionality to both the bathrooms and the master bedroom. Our construction work was carried out in accordance with our original timeframes, and we kept the client up-to date on the progress we’d made throughout the duration of the works.

One of the main goals of this full house refurbishment was to maximise and optimise the living spaces; and our team certainly achieved this objective. The glass rear extension that we created allowed for a larger, more practical kitchen area, and we also made this a multi-use space by adding a solid oak dining table. Our rear extension idea of using glass for the structure created a light, airy ambience in this part of the property, adding to the appeal of the new space.

Our renovation works in the bathrooms and master bedroom allowed us to optimise the overall layout of these spaces; and we also introduced a contemporary decor palette with statement hues in key areas – such as the stunning, teal bathroom tiles.
