Project Description

The project brief

This property in the leafy east London borough of Victoria Park was well overdue for a complete interior revamp. The homeowners arranged an initial design consultation with our team, where we took plenty of time to understand the vision that they had for the space. They told us how the current decor and design scheme no longer reflected their preferences, but they also knew that some more significant updates were required in terms of structure and plumbing. They understood and supported our suggestion of beginning a complete fit out, and our project manager took them through the early stages of the process, working closely with our wider team, too. Our pre-construction support meant that this process was seamless from the offset, and we kept our customers informed at every step.

What we did

After the design development stage of the project, the customers were delighted with the plans that we had for their space, and we began seeking any relevant approvals. The structural work to be carried out was internal, we didn’t need to secure any permissions, so work could begin swiftly.

As we entered the construction stage of the project, we began working on the necessary changes. Our trusted builders installed new beams to internal ceilings, and we created bespoke joinery fixtures to add character to the property. The property was also due to some electrical and plumbing updates; this was our second priority. We completely rewired the electrics, and we installed a new reliable plumbing system, giving the home more than just a purely aesthetic upgrade.

From this point, our fit-out efforts continued; we painted all of the home's rooms, including walls, ceilings, and any skirting boards. All decorating was completed to a high standard, and our interior designer assisted us by ensuring the finish for each space was perfect.

One of our flooring experts installed new tiles in the kitchen and bathroom, following the interior designer's brief. Several high-end fixtures and finishings were added to each room, giving every space a thorough overhaul in terms of visual appeal.

The outcome

The completed project was a total contrast from the property that we started with, in terms of both aesthetics and practical aspects. The chosen decor theme was a perfectly balanced blend of contemporary and heritage, and both influences were evident throughout every room that we worked in. Colour palettes for each space were dominated by ambient, earthy tones, creating a tranquil appeal. The furniture choices that we made in collaboration with our customers were quirky, classic, Scandi-style pieces, adding some points of visual intrigue throughout.

The homeowners were extremely happy with the final result; they told us that the vision that they had for their home had not only been met, but that we’d exceeded their expectations.
