Reimagining a Home in Queen’s Park
Our clients, a young family, approached us with a clear vision: to create a modern, comfortable home that celebrates clean design while respecting the character of its period setting. Located in the Queen’s Park conservation area, the renovation had to strike a careful balance between preserving heritage and introducing contemporary living.
The brief was centred on simplicity and light. The family wanted a Scandinavian-inspired feel—soft tones, straight lines, and uncluttered layouts that flow easily from one space to another. Every detail was to be purposeful, with storage integrated seamlessly into the design: built-in wardrobes, clever bathroom furniture, shoe storage, and cloak cupboards, all working quietly in the background to make the home practical as well as beautiful.
Maximising natural light was a priority. Wherever possible, we sought to enhance existing window openings and explore opportunities for adding new ones, ensuring that daylight reaches deep into the home. This sense of openness would be complemented by splashes of colour, carefully chosen to bring energy and personality into the calm, neutral palette.
Performance was as important as aesthetics. The clients placed great emphasis on sound and thermal insulation, particularly between floors and exposed walls, to make the house feel solid, quiet, and warm. Comfort was also addressed through underfloor heating with smart zonal controls, ensuring that each space could be adapted to suit the family’s needs. Water pressure and quality were not overlooked either, with plans for a high-performing system and a water softener to improve everyday living.
Throughout the project, we worked with the client’s ideas and inspiration—drawn from Houzz, Pinterest, and their own previous renovation experience—translating them into a design that balances wow-factor moments with budget-conscious decisions. The aim was never to overwhelm with frills, but to craft a home that feels fresh, functional, and timeless.

The result will be a space that reflects both the character of Queen’s Park and the lifestyle of its owners: a modern London home that’s light-filled, well-planned, and ready for family life to unfold.
